The communities of Salisbury and China Grove are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Victoria “Tori” Overcash, a 17-year-old senior at J.C. Carson High School, who died in a tragic crash on Brown Road Thursday morning. The accident has left classmates, teachers, family members, and friends struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of a young life filled with promise and energy.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Tori was driving southbound when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound garbage truck. Master Trooper Whit Efird confirmed that the crash occurred Thursday morning near China Grove. Sadly, Tori was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have notified her family, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
